A Supportive Start with Early Birds
At Kariong Public School, we make the transition to Kindergarten smooth and enjoyable with our Early Birds program. Held weekly over four sessions in late October and November, this program helps children build essential skills in a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment. Each session focuses on a different aspect of school readiness, ensuring your child feels confident and excited to start their learning journey. Exact dates will be provided later in the year.
Information for Parents
Starting school is a big step for both children and parents! To help make the transition easier, we’ll be sharing helpful tips and information on our website and Facebook page throughout Term 4. Keep an eye out for advice on preparing your child for their exciting first year at school!
Best Start Kindergarten Assessment
All new Kindergarten students will take part in the Best Start Kindergarten Assessment, which helps us understand their early literacy and numeracy skills. This isn’t a test—just a way for our teachers to get to know your child’s learning needs. You’ll receive a time and date for their session in late January or early February.
