Swimming Carnival
Kariong Public School holds an annual Swimming Carnival in first term at the Peninsula Leisure Centre Woy Woy. Children in Years 3 to 6 and those who are turning 8 in Year 2 are encouraged to participate in a range of events depending on their abilities. Students who place in their events represent the school at the Brisbane Waters Zone Swimming Carnival held at Gosford Olympic Pool.
Cross Country Carnival
The Cross Country Carnival is held at Mitchell Drive Playing fields during Term 2. Children in Years 3 to 6 and those turning 8 in Year 2 are encouraged to participate. Students placing in the top of their age group compete at the Brisbane Waters Zone Cross Country Carnival. The location of the Zone carnival changes each year as different schools host the event.
Athletics Carnival
Our annual Athletics Carnival is held at Adcock Park, Gosford. All children in Years 3 to 6 as well as those turning 8 in Year 2 are encouraged to enter a variety of events. For some events such as discus and shot put preliminary heats are held in the weeks leading up to the carnival and the representatives then compete in the finals on the day of the Athletics Carnival..
At these carnival students compete both individually and in houses for points to determine the age champions and winning house.
